Gems of Hope Announces Millhiser Smith Foundation as “Gifts of Education” Sponsor

Gems of Hope is pleased to announce the Millhiser Smith Foundation as a 2015-2016  “Gifts of Education” scholarship sponsor.

The program, which began in 2014, provides scholarships to area high school seniors who have been personally affected by cancer, meaning the student has been previously diagnosed with cancer or has had an immediate family member who has had cancer (sibling, mother, or father).

Jessica Baseler commented “The Millhiser Smith Foundation is proud to support Gems of Hope through their “Gifts of Education” scholarship program. Most of us know someone who has been through cancer so the mission of Gems of Hope to “bring hope to cancer patients and their families” is something that really moves us.

It is especially important to give support to youth who have survived cancer diagnoses themselves or that of close family members. The scholarship program is a great way to show these youth and their families that we are here to support them and move them forward to their next great adventure.”

The program is also funded by the efforts of the Gems of Hope Youth Advisory Board (YAB), fundraisers like Hope Blooms and the Gems Golf Classic and other sponsors and donors who contribute to the fund.  Raining Rose and Wells Fargo are also corporate “Gifts of Education” sponsors.
