What About Us? Kids Camp, 9/24/2016
What About Us? is a free, one day, cancer coping program for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. Through fun activities such as art therapy and children’s yoga, children are able to discuss their feelings after someone close to them is diagnosed with cancer. In addition to talking about their feelings, children learn how to cope with the stress that accompanies a cancer diagnosis. The camp is run by licensed social workers and a trained yoga coach.
This free program will be held at the Gems of Hope office in the Sister Mary Lawrence Community Center on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 10:00am-2:30pm. Lunch is provided. This program was developed by Gems of Hope, Inc. and is partially funded by a grant from the Linn County Board of Supervisor’s Witwer Trust.
