Gems of Hope is pleased to announce the Millhiser Smith Foundation as a 2015-2016 “Gifts of Education” scholarship sponsor. The program, which began in 2014, provides scholarships to area high school seniors who have been personally affected by cancer, meaning the student has been previously diagnosed with cancer or has had an immediate family member who has had cancer (sibling, mother, or father). Gems of Hope Announces Muscatine Scholarship Winners
Gems of Hope, a local nonprofit which focuses on bringing hope to cancer patients and their families is pleased to announce the Muscatine recipients of the 2015 “Gifts of Education” scholarships. The program was supported by the Hope Blooms fundraiser and the good work done by the Hope Blooms Muscatine Committee. The fundraising efforts provided two $750.00 scholarships to Muscatine High School seniors Jaren Winkey and Maria Haas. Volley for Gems of Hope!
Gems of Hope is hosting it’s 2nd Annual Sand Volleyball tournament hosted by the Gems of Hope Youth Advisory Board. The board board is comprised of high school juniors and seniors from area schools. The tournament is located at Volleys, 265 Blairs Ferry Rd NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52402on June 12, 2015 – 6:00pm-10:00pm. The cost is $5 per person ($30-$40 per team). Proceeds from the tournament will go to support Gems scholarships offered to graduating high school seniors.
